Alpha Course Questionaire

I was given the following questionnaire at the first night of a Alpha Course. The options were as follows:

I am undecided about the existence of God
I am spiritually curious
I am of another faith, but want to be educated about Christ
I am somewhat familiar with Christianity
I have accepted Christ, but it's not really working for me (it's boring or uneventful)
I have accepted Christ, but turned away from the faith
I got my faith from my parents, doesn't feel like my own
Jesus is an important part of my life, but not my number one priority
I have given Christ complete control over my time, energy, and money

I was expected to pick one of the above items but opted for none of the above.

I know of no one including myself that has given Christ complete control over my time, energy, and money. I know of no one who can say that Jesus is really their number one priority as even believers do sin and any sin points out that Jesus is not 100% of the time the number one priority.

My response is more I am a sinner saved by grace. It trust that Jesus has paid for my sins on the cross. I live knowing that I have to daily repent for sins and struggle against sinful desires by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Frankly, "The Alpha Course" appears to offer a rather dumbed down Christianity that is rather spiritual junk food. I cannot really figure out why some believe this course is all that great as I find it to be rather stupid. Where is the spiritual meat in this course? I am not all that impressed even with some of the suggested reading book list in The Alpha Course book.

"Basic Christianity" by John Stott is a good book that I have read and it is in the suggested reading list. I would recommend Timothy Keller's latest book "King's Cross" too. Another good book to read is "Counterfeit Gods".

The hotel staff is very friendly and nice. The free breakfast served is great. It has a very nice indoor pool. The beds are really nice and the rooms are great having a microwave, refrigerator, study desk, and sofa.

The Bible in the room was nice but seriously a Book of Mormon? Consider the fact that this hotel sits on the holy ground that use to be the location of Faith Community Church of Orange County, Inc, California Biblical University and Seminary, Faith Defenders Church, Inc. Research and Education Foundation, and Faith Defenders Ministries, LP. What would Robert Morey think about a Book of Mormon being in each hotel room on the same Holy ground where he use to preach sermons against Mormonism.

A major negative is no restaurant within walking distance except Subway at a nearby gas station.

I am considering staying at the hotel again soon as I enjoyed my stay there even if I didn't find time to read the Book of Mormon in my hotel room.

I am spending a night in the three month old Marriott SpringHill Suites in Irvine California. This new hotel is sitting on the ground where the old Faith Defenders building of Faith Defenders Church, Inc. use to stand. The Faith Defenders building was leveled and hauled to a California landfill to make room for this new hotel.

A very nice hotel near the John Wayne Airport.

Previous to October 14, 2009; the business owner named "Faith Defenders Church, Inc." had the FBN of "California Biblical University and Seminary" per a document recorded in Santa Ana with the registration number of 20046011392. This legal FBN statement was filed on 12/22/2004.

I have finished listening to "Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die" by John Piper. A Christ-centered gospel was so clearly presented that even the closet Roman Catholic Michael Horton could get saved from returning to Rome by listening to this. Highly recommended reading or listening for Michael Horton fans who are on the road to Rome with Horton.

Nice to see that the spiritual discernment community has finally detected Roman Catholic-ism growing in the heart of Michael Horton. The past hero worship of Michael Horton by spiritual discernment addicts like Daniel Chew was like idol worship. I wait for Daniel Chew to burn in public all of Michael Horton's books while condemning Michael Horton's soul to eternal Hell fire.

The spreading Christ-less Christianity plague is so bad that even Michael Horton has come under it's power?

Naturally this is all satire .... or is it? Difficult to know what is truth or satire in the true truth war now days.

I noted a Google ad for a local church on my own blog. So, I had to check it out. Per the self-righteous spiritual discernamentalist named Stephen Macasil this church has to be in serious error as they are doing a series based on Tim Keller's book "The Prodigal God". This series started September 20th and it runs another five weeks. However, I am thinking I need to check this out as I know of no church in Claremont, CA that would touch a John Piper book (OK, there is at least one church that may pick the book up and sort of open it for a quick look before putting it down as being too Calvinist.) or anything written by Tim Keller either. I have noted that I have to go to Ontario, Chino, and Upland to find Calvinism.

I will be checking out Sierra Vista Community Church in nearby Upland, CA. It has to be more Christian than a U2 Charist @ Claremont United Church of Christ. Besides I am old fashioned and worship a God who is father and not mother. I am not politically correct enough for Claremont United Church of Christ.

By the way, Stephen Macasil is nothing but another so-called spiritual discernamentalist who is clueless and not worth listening too. If you desire to read his tall tales about Tim Keller you can visit his Biblical Thought blog.

Since I am unrepentant in my belief that Stephen Macasil is a Hyper Calvinist who teaches a false gospel message and Tim Keller is a true Calvinist; I post a link to Tim Keller's book titled "The Reason for God".

I do pray that Stephen Macasil will repent of his Hyper Calvinism.

In my Friday Night search for spirituality in Claremont, CA which is by looking at the local postings to see what is happening; I found out about an event at United Church of Christ in Claremont, CA. Basically two quick comments:

I am not use to an altered Lord's Prayer where God is both my father and mother? Only in the United Church of Christ with its unique multi-gender god. I still recall what the late Dr. Walter Martin had to say on that matter so this isn't anything new.

So U2 has a Jesus that still keeps you searching for something to fill your empty-ness? Now it is time to recall what John Piper, John MacArthur, and Tim Keller has to say on that matter. For those shocked that John MacArthur and Tim Keller agree on something; you need to stop listening to the slander merchant Stephen Macasil as he lies about what Tim Keller really teaches.

OK,so I attended the event as I had nothing better to do that evening. There was no jazz band that I wanted to listen too.

I am not a U2 fan. Their music is not bad but it is not a true Christian gospel per the songs that I heard for the first time during the U2 service at Claremont United Church of Christ. My experience didn't have me quickly running home to purchase U2 music from iTunes; but I did desire some yogurt after the service from Yogurt Land. I have yet to add any U2 music to my music collection and I still prefer the 6:30 Band from Redeemer Presbyterian Church NYC as I love classic Christian hymns with a Jazz twist. Claremont United Church of Christ can keep their U2 music and I will keep my 6:30 Band.

Nice that the offering collected during the U2 service went 100% to aiding others and none of it was kept by Claremont United Church of Christ.

In a total disrespect for USA copyright law and lazyness in not sending a photographer to get their own photos of the event, CRN has stolen a photo from my Flickr photo website without my permission. Then to rub salt in my wounds due to their act of stealing copyrighted materal they write a negative review on Mark Driscoll's sermon at the Crystal Cathedral. I was present to hear the sermon live. I watched it on the internet and I considered it to be a very good sermon. I fail to understand why these self righteous photo stealing thieves consider the "Vintage Jesus" sermon given by Mark Driscoll to be a failure.

A check for using my copyrighted photo of Mark Driscoll at the Crystal Cathedral had better be in the mail or a copyright lawsuit may be coming.

One does not advance the Kingdom of God by stealing a photo without permission from a Flickr website. Stealing is stealing and it breaks one of the ten commandments.

I rented "A Walk to Remember" and watched it. Somehow the movie supports my viewpoint that typically Christian theme movies are not worth watching. There are a few exceptions like "End of the Spear", "Amazing Grace", and "Luther".

I watched "(500) Days of Summer" yesterday at the Lemmele Theatre in downtown Claremont, CA. This I did after arriving from a day of photo shooting in Solana Beach, CA. The Solana Beach photos are uploaded to Flickr. While listening to the Friday Night Live music I noticed kids playing in the fountain and photographed them. One of the photos is above.

Lately I have been doing day Amtrak Surfliner trips to Oceanside, San Clemente Pier, Solana Beach, and Santa Barbara, CA. Since I have been working my way South with the exception of Santa Barbara; the next day trip will be to San Diego. I may make it two day trips to San Diego one to Old Town and one to Downtown San Diego to see the Maritime Museum and USS Midway. One of the San Diego trips may be a overnight stay. San Diego is not as expensive of a place to spend one night as Santa Barbara.

The water fountain above is in the Annex part of Claremont and located in front of the Lemmele Theatre. Kids love to play in the fountain especially on hot summer days.

FIRE and Robert Morey - A Summary

A copy of the FIRE report on Robert Albert Morey was mailed to me and I have been busy studying it. It fills in some of the missing pieces of the puzzle concerning the purchase and sale of 17601 Fitch Avenue in Irvine, CA. The report appears to end around July 2008; but it confirms evidence I obtained from the California Secretary of State and Orange County Clerk-Recorder offices as being accurate. In addition, the report appears to support some of my assumptions as being accurate.

The report documents the three church splits that occurred at FCC (Faith Community Church). I have a much improved understanding of the church splits at FCC and how these impacted other churches in Orange, Riverside, and Los Angeles counties. I have a much better understanding of the persons impacted along with the Baptist churches impacted. In addition, I have a much better understanding of why FIRE got involved in the matter as it impacted several churches and individuals that were part of FIRE.

Anyone that claims that this report has insufficient evidence that Robert Albert Morey is guilty of sin or breaking California Corporate laws has either not read the report or has no desire to know the truth. The report has more than sufficient evidence that Robert Albert Morey was guilty of sin and FIRE was right in asking him to resign from FIRE.

Some of the information in the report per my research may not be accurate but it doesn’t change the fact that Robert Albert Morey is guilty of sin sufficient to make him unfit to be an elder in charge of any church or parachurch ministry. All charges concerned illegal business practices, and bad ethics and none of the charges concerned false teaching or heresy taught by Robert Albert Morey.

Due to the fact that the report is confidential; I cannot ethically blog about information in the report without getting permission from FIRE first. I may find myself if I request permission to publish information from the report from FIRE having to explain how I got a copy of the report in the first place.

What is strange is the report was mailed to my office and delivered by one of the office staff to me. Frankly the office website doesn’t appear to generate much business other than requests that I apply for a job with another company. I have recuiters for other companies sending me Christmas cards because it appears they expect to talk me into working for another company soon?

Since it was made public by another blog that Robert Morey planned on having a CPA do an audit of the sale of 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA I guess it is OK for me to state that it appears that Onisko & Schotz, LLP may have been hired to do that task. Since I do not consider the source of that information in the FIRE report to be a reliable source; I do not know if this fact is really true or part of the Robert Morey smokescreen of mis-information.

In other matters the state of Iowa is trying to do an audit of my 2004 income tax. Strange as I lived in Iowa from March 2005 to June 2006. Since I worked in 2004 for the same company I presently work for; I have questioned them as to why they didn’t withhold Iowa income tax from my paycheck for 2004? Naturally the answer is that I owed zero income tax to Iowa during 2004 so they did no Iowa withholding of my pay.

Since California has already unsuccessfuly tried to collect income tax for 2006 which is the time I was living in Minnesota; I suppose it is only natural that Iowa to try to collect income tax for 2004. I suppose Minnesota will soon try to collect income tax for the time I was living in California or Iowa. I wait for a notice of a tax audit to appear in my mailbox from Minnesota.

I have found the evidence requested by Iowa to prove that I owe zero income tax to the Hawkeye state for the tax year 2004. The information has been enclosed in an envelope which will be mailed tomorrow to the Iowa tax auditor in Des Moines, IA. I wrote a simple note to the Iowa tax auditor simply saying nice try but you have zero evidence that I own Iowa any money and I have much evidence that I owe Iowa nothing.

Last Friday I took the Amtrak Surfliner up to Santa Barbara for a day trip. Much too expensive to spend the night there. I went to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the wharf and beach. A very long day and a very enjoyable one too.

On Saturday night I went to the Claremont High School Theatre production of "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown" which was very cute.

I have responded to the Iowa request for an audit of my 2004 Iowa income tax. I lived and worked in Iowa from March 2005 to June 2006 so naturally I filed no 2004 income tax for Iowa during 2004. California has already failed to collect any income tax for 2006 which is the year I was working and living in Minnesota. I expect Minnesota to anytime try to collect income tax for a period I was living and working in California or Iowa.

A copy of this report arrived in the mail. I have been reading it and it appears to fill in some of the missing puzzle pieces of the legendary Faith Defenders building which is now gone. I cannot use the report without permission of FIRE, therefore I cannot freely blog from it. I hope that Robert Morey did earn enough money from the sale of 17601 Finch Avenue, Irvine, CA to retire on because the scandal over that building has for all practical purposes finished the Faith Defenders and REF (Research and Education Foundation) ministries. As to if the State of California will go after Robert Morey for breaking California Corporate laws is a matter yet to be seen.

Fun on the Amtrak Surfliner

Of all of the Amtrak trains, the Southbound Surfliner has to be the party train; especially on a summer weekend. If the crowd is not going to the beach in Oceanside or San Clemente; they are bound for San Diego. Why wait to party when you get there when you can party on a train. I will soon be posting more photos in Flickr of Oceanside and San Clemente.

While recovering from Hawaii, I played tourist in Riverside, Oceanside, and San Clemente, CA.

Rather than take MetroLink trains, I rode the Amtrak Surfliner. MetroLink trains are cheaper but Amtrak Surfliner trains are more fun. It seems like you meet the most interesting persons on Amtrak.

Random Things before Flying to Hawaii

I note that the "Biblical Thought" blog no longer has a link to "Faith Defenders" as it now has links to "STF Magazine" and "John Calvin Facebook". I was already aware of the Morey-ite connection to "John Calvin Facebook" and I knew about Stephen Macasil's connection to "STF Magazine". The distancing of "Biblical Thought" blog and "Faith Defenders" continues.

I am all packed for Hawaii and I leave early tomorrow morning.

The new field data collection computer is working fine. It appears very functional for doing the field work that it was purchased to do on the Hawaii project with or without the new Trimble unit as I have the GPS on it up and running. I was up rather late on Friday night doing simulations of the various field data collection work that the unit was purchased to handle and the unit passed the simulations, but the real test will be if the unit works as well in the field. Having learned how to operate the unit, I will need to train the other team members how to operate it. Now that it is clear to me that the new field data collection computer is part of the Hawaii project equipment inventory; I am much more confident that the project should go smoothly. The unit will be a labor saving device as it will quickly store lots of field data in a format that will be easy to process later on my laptop computer. Since I was the person who promoted the purchase of this expensive computer device; I am glad it does not only what I expected it to do but even more than expected.

I plan on using the new field data collection computer fully on the project in Hawaii.

Sometimes "The Online Discernmentalist Mafia" has great satire of the discernment junkies who blog; but sometimes it lacks discernment as to what is good satire. There are a few times when it is so accurate on the matter that it is not satire but an accurate commentary on the problem.

The equipment left today for Hawaii Phase II. Which means I will be soon flying to Hawaii to join the equipment already in route. I have a new computer to learn how to use that is a field computer used to collect field data. So far the field computer and my company laptop refuse to communicate which each other which makes me wonder if both have discerned that the other is a heretic or something worse. ;-)

For Hawaii Phase II it is a five man team whereas for Hawaii Phase I it was a three man team. I note that I will not have to change my Apple iTouch to Hawaii time as it is still on Hawaii time due to it being in Hawaii for Phase I. My computer devices are totally confused being lately in Houston TX, Honolulu HI, and Claremont CA as to what time it is. Phase I was mostly corrosion survey work whereas Phase II is troubleshooting. Our team consists of a GPS expert, one experienced engineer, and three engineer trainees. Besides a brand new field data computer; there is a brand new GPS unit. The GPS expert will be spending the weekend working on the new GPS unit and I will spend the weekend working on the new field data computer. The new field data computer needs to communicate not only with my company laptop but a new optical chainer, and the new GPS unit. I have yet to get the new field data computer to communicate with its own internal GPS unit but the device arrived today so I have not had much time to learn how to operate it.

My part of the mission is to train the engineer trainees on how to troubleshoot a complex cathodic protection system. The GPS expert's job is to document the location of the stuff lost in the Hawaii jungle without getting himself lost. I simply hope that the GPS expert is enough of a boy scout that he knows how to use a compass in the jungle or he could go in circles for a long time. ;-)

Tomorrow is Cruise Night in Claremont, CA and I do plan on attending.

I have little to say about John Calvin's 500th birthday as I believe there may be a lack of discernment concerning the celebration of this event. Unlike the spiritual discernmentalist who love to judge I will not post a blog article attacking all of those lacking the same spiritual discernment I have who have decided to celebrate or post positive articles about Calvin's 500th birthday. I will just hint that they may be unsaved for celebrating John Calvin's 500th birthday. ;-) Keep in mind that I am not sure about their salvation status but I do have real doubts about their salvation which are based upon Bible verses that I believe support my doubts. ;-)

I do wish John Calvin a happy 500th birthday but I do not know if I should send the birthday wish to Hell or Heaven. I do not believe that all idols go to Heaven be they John Calvin or Michael Jackson. ;-) Who am I to judge the patron saint of Calvinism? ;-)

Granite Creek Church in Claremont CA July 4th Parade

Granite Creek Church is just down the street from my apartment so it is in easy walking distance. It is one of the few conservative churches in Claremont,CA that I know about. It has a Vineyard connection. I have no desire to say anything really negative about this church, but I cannot seem to feel comfortable about having anything but an occasional loose connection with it. The reasons I do not feel right about becoming a member of this church I do not desire to public post. It is possible my viewpoint may change later.

It had the only true float in the parade and I must admit they were a more exciting church in the parade than Claremont Presbyterian (PCUSA) or United Church of Christ. Claremont Presbyterian simply advertised their VBS (Vocation Bible School) and United Church of Christ decided to promote Marriage Equality by publically supporting Gay Marriage. I enjoy attending some of the United Church of Christ social functions as they are a very friendly church and they have great music during their worship service. Yes, I am trying to think of positive things to say. It is nice attending a church that is not judgmental as many fundamentalist churches have a tendency to view vistors as possible heretics that may create problems by bring heresy into their church. Few churches took part in the parade but some churches had a booth in Memorial Park or an activity for kids.

I am of the opinion that one should attend a church in the community of which one lives but finding a church in Claremont has been difficult. The idea of going down to Orange County to attend a church has been rejected as those churches are too far away. Most of the reformed churches in the area that I have found so far are Reformed Baptist and I simply cannot bring myself to join that group as I consider them to be radical reformers that are borderline cult. There is no PCA churches in the Claremont area which would be my first choice. The closest PCA churches are too far away and several of these appear to be rather new church plants that are struggling to get permanently established. The closest PCA churches that are not stuggling church plants per my research is in Orange, CA and the Burbank, CA general area which is too far of a drive.

I have found a reformed church in San Bernardino County and Claremont is borderline San Bernardino County as it is close to the county line. So far this church appears to be a good fit and it is not very far away; but I still think that my church should be in Claremont not a nearby city across the county line.

Being influenced by Tim Keller and that makes me a heretic per some Christians; I desire both a church that has sound Bible teaching and is socially active. The tendency in Christianity is to have a church that is very socially active but lacking in sound Bible teaching or it is sound Bible teaching but lacking in social activity. There is no perfect Christian church this side of Heaven which is a fact any Christian should agree to.

At times I disagree with Sir Aaron and sometimes I totally agree:

Who are you both? And who are the “guys.” The only person arguing in favor of Keller, was John. (I am really having to use all my willpower to avoid snarky comments).

Based on your last two posts (and a visit to your blog), I gather that your points are: (1) Keller is a feminist because he allows women to perform functions that men who are not leaders perform including some teaching. (2) Women shouldn’t teach men under any circumstances. (3) Women can and do have the gift of discernment.

My response to you is the following:

(1) With respect to Keller being a feminist, I disagree, as would most feminists. Keller’s view hardly fit into the classical definition of a feminist. I do get your point, and I agree that Keller’s doctrine with respect to this issue is flawed. My problem here is that you throw around terms like feminist very loosely.

(2). We agree absolutely that women shouldn’t be teaching men.

(3) You clearly believe that women can’t teach men but yet can have the gift of discernment. “And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.” This implies that one reason why Paul says women can’t teach men is because they lack discernment or at the very least are more easily prone to being led astray. So I agree with you that women shouldn’t be teaching men. We have no argument there. I’m not particulary convinced that women can have the gift of discernment. However, I’m willing to entertain a case for or against such a position.

Finally, the biggest concern that I have is that I don’t see how what you are doing is much different than teaching men, especially since you routinely challenge men, including pastors and elders, to doctrinal disputes. How is teaching men or challenging them over the internet via your blog or elsewhere, any different than doing so at your local church body? What male leader has endorsed your positions or holds you accountable for your what you write? What male leader has qualified you to lead in this area and confirmed your giftedness in discernment?

My Pilgrimage to the Location of the Original McDonalds

I did a pilgrimage to the site of the very first McDonalds in San Bernardino, California. There is no longer any McDonalds at this location but there is a California historical marker and a museum. I toured the museum and took lots of photos which I will post on Flickr later. I am on vacation learning about the history of Southern California. Presently I am in the closest McDonald's to the historical location of the very first McDonalds.

Like most McDonalds now days, this McDonalds has a WiFi Hotspot.

A Posting on My Doubts about God's Grace & Speculation about God's Grace in Christianity

Has George Bryson really been posting on Biblical Thought blog? Why would George Bryson desire to comment on the BT gang's personality cult worship of James White? I have my doubts but it could be someone claiming to be George Bryson or maybe a Morey-ite pretending to be George Bryson in an attempt to increase traffic to this brood of viper blog. I want evidence that the person posting as George Bryson is the one and only true George Bryson.

I am seriously considering a pilgrimage to Saddleback Church so that I can personally experience the Saddleback experience. When I was attending a Southern Baptist Church in the San Francisco East Bay Area for a short period that desired to be like Saddleback Church; all I heard about was their pilgrimages to Southern California to experience the Saddleback experience and what a wonderfully great experience this event was on this side of Heaven. Why should Southern Baptist have all of the wonderful pilgrimages or Roman Catholics either. I got tired of Southern Baptist sillyness which is why I started attending Oak Hills Presbyterian Church and I now consider myself a full Presbyterian who ponders how many Southern Baptist are really saved? Since the favorite past time of Southern Baptist is to gossip as to how many in their church is saved (not that Presbyterians are above this behavior either) this brings us to a rather silly article posted on a typical stupid discernment blog.

Yes, I am about to attack the Christian Research Network again. I do not totally agree with Frank Schaeffer on everything but he has one thing I believe right. There is too much this temptation for Christians be they Presbyterian or Baptist to desire to gossip as to who is saved or not saved as if their opinions determines who God placed in the Book of Life before the foundration of the world. Since Calvinist tend to have an idol worship of John Calvin the assumption is that John Calvin is in Heaven; but is he really? I desire evidence that John Calvin really is in Heaven!!!

I often ponder if James White is reformed enought to be saved, if Stephen Macasil has sufficient faith to be saved, Reformed Mama sufficient reformed behavior related to the tongue to be saved, and John MacArthur sufficient correct Bible sound teaching to be saved. There is much speculation if Mark Driscoll is saved yet alone a true Calvinist. Frankly, I am of the opinion that God's grace is not sufficient to save anyone and everyone except the Lord Jesus Christ will burn for eternity in eternal Hell fire. ;-)

After reading many articles by Ken Silva; I have serious doubts that he is saved. ;-) All of my doubts about Ken Silva's salvation from God's wrath can be supported by Bible verses!!!!

I am at the Ontario International Airport waiting for a flight to Houston, Texas. Yes, I am once again going to the Lone Star State. Next week I will be in the Aloha State. Naturally, it is the plans of a man and only God knows my future.

Yesterday I was blessed to shake hands with Pastor Mark (Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church) at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Pastor Mark gave two sermons. The first was on Jesus and the second was on the cross of Jesus. The second sermon was hardly a typical "The Hour of Power" sermon as it was not all that positive yet alone all that much of a positive thinking sermon. Both sermons were excellent considering the time limit that "The Hour of Power" puts on sermon length. Part of the Southern California Mark Driscoll fan club was there and it was all to easy to spot them as they looked out of place in the typical Crystal Cathedral faithful. First off, the Mark Driscoll fan club is much younger than the typical Crystal Cathedral groupie. In addition, they were the ones asking questions about when is Mark Driscoll going to give his sermon. They were there to see Mark Driscoll.

I had never been to the Crystal Cathedral before so I took a lot of photos. When I find the time I will post the photos of the Crystal Cathedral and it will include photos of Mark Driscoll.

To the Brood of Vipers who do not like Mark Driscoll, Pastor Mark is as cool in person as he is on video. I love cool dudes who love Jesus and I hate negative persons who claim to be Christian yet love to do the work of Satan by attacking Christians that they do not like without just cause.

Another Day in the Office as the Video Game Boys Play at E3

As part of the office has been busy playing video games at E3, I have been busy covering for them by doing tasks that they normally do. The E3 video game party ended today so they will be back in the office tomorrow. I understand they have had a very fun time.

I continue to setup Plexo as I have the time. I am trying out Apple Mobile too.

It appears the party to celebrate the death of Tiller the Killer on Biblical Thought blog may have come to an end. The trash talk about Frank Schaeffer may have ended as well.

A Muslim has made the mistake of starting a discussion on Biblical Thought blog. I feel very sorry for the Muslim as soon he will have more reasons to hate Radical Mad Dog Christians.

I very much enjoyed a Men's Bible Study on Wednesday morning at a Denny's in Chico, CA. Much discussion on John Murray, Van Til, Francis Schaeffer, and other Reformed persons. I find myself with a gang of Dutch Reformed persons. I have not had fellowship with Dutch Reformed persons since Michigan State University if one doesn't count the one Sunday I attended a Dutch Reformed church in the Minneapolis Metro area. Naturally these Dutch Reformed person have a connection with Iowa and Southwestern Michigan. I sort of feel like I am back in Southwestern Michigan being around Dutch Reformed persons again. However, I am still in Southern California and not Southwestern Michigan and Chico CA is not Holland MI.

The problem with Reformed persons which includes the Dutch type is not only are they the frozen chosen but they do not make their existance much known. I found out about these Dutch Reformed persons by accident when a Google search exposed their existance. It is nice to find a gang of true Reformed persons in Southern California other than the strange Reformed Baptist kind. ;-) Beyond question, Baptist need Reformation .... but I lack the patience for them to become Reformed enough that I desire to fellowship with them. ;-)

It has been a very busy week and I look forward to the weekend and hanging out with some Dutch Reformed persons on Sunday.

I really believe I have finally found my new church home in Southern California. It is so difficult now days to find a church that has not sold out to the seeker friendly mega-church concept or drifted over into liberalism where the Bible is no longer the final authority.

Add the issue that I have grown sick of celebration services and music by a rock and roll band during the worship service.

Then the matter that I want to hear sound Bible teaching during the sermon and not feel good pop psychology.

OK, so I am a very difficult person to market to on Sunday morning as I hate marketing programs most of all.

I am still waiting for Stephen Macasil of Biblical Thought to answer Denise of Surph's Side blog if Michelle Malkin really is his cousin. I have been looking at the blog articles of Michelle Malkin and I ponder if Biblical Thought will attempt to copy her style in order to get more traffic. Michelle Malkin appears to be doing to Conservatives what Stephen Macasil is doing to Calvinism. Stephen Macasil posts blogs that has me thinking I should quickly join the Lutheran Church and Michelle Malkin posts blogs that has me thinking I should quickly join the Democratic party.

I am at a loss as to why Michelle Malkin is so popular other than she is cute. I doubt that Michelle Malkin will ever become more popular than Ann Coulter. I note that Michelle Malkin likes taking cheap shots at President Obama like Stephen Macasil loves to take cheap shots at Tim Keller.

Mark Driscoll gets a Mac laptop and Phil Johnson gets an Apple mini. Mark Driscoll has a new book called "Religion Saves!". Issues Etc. has an hour show on the decline of Evangelicalism per David Wells. Phil Johnson has attacked Mark Driscoll again. I read what Phil Johnson has to say about Mark Driscoll and at least he does say some nice things about him which may get him in trouble with Denise of Surph's Side blog.

A Very Strange Day in California ... Today ....

I am pondering creation of a blog that will attempt to find good news to report about the modern day Christian church rather than attempting to find the negative. Presently I am at a loss as to what to call this blog. I am extremely concerned that this good news blog will be quickly attacked by the negative news Christian blogs and I will be considered a greater heretic in Christendom then I currently am. Odds are a good news about the church blog wouldn't get read by anyone other than myself. It is much more fashionable now days to attack the Bride of Christ rather than say anything good about her.

My company has decided to give its employees a four day Independence / Canada Day weekend because we are rather burned out from all of the overtime. I add Canada Day since one of the persons in the office is Canadian. Canada Day is July 1st whereas Independence Day is July 4th.

I note that Stephen Macasil of Biblical Thought blog has yet to answer Denise of Surph's side blog's question if Michelle Malkin is really his cousin. I believe odds are high that Michelle Malkin is not Stephen Macasil's cousin by blood, but Political cousins who both like to take cheap shots at President Omaba. If Omaba had said anything about an arrest that had not yet gone to jury; he would have been attacked by more persons than the cheap shooters named Michelle Malkin and Stephen Macasil. Obama in my opinion did the right thing by saying nothing. Another case of Stephen Macasil attacking someone for not saying something that Stephen Macasil believed should have been said. When and if Stephen Macasil becomes President of the USA; there will be someone who will take cheap shots at him like he took a cheap shot at President Obama with Michelle Malkin assisting the character attack. If Stephen Macasil is not attacking someone, he is not doing God's will per his understanding of what his mission is in serving God's Kingdom.

I use to watch a lot of Fox News and listen to a lot of conservative radio talk shows; but now days I am tired of listening to them. I have become bored with them.

The California Supreme Court as some news persons expected decided not to overturn Proposition 8 today. The right of California voters to vote on what is marriage has been upheld. I am rather surprised that the Biblical Thought blog has not posted anything on this matter. This was a Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints victory as they funded most of the ads for Proposition 8. I congraduate the Mormons on their political victory in defending marriage as being between a man and a woman in California. My only assistance was giving my one yes vote as a protest against the California Supreme Court as I really didn't care if the definition of marriage was changed but I simply hate the California Supreme Court's attempt to take over and rule California. I am extremely suprised to find out that the California Supreme Court doesn't run California after all as this group now admits that they are under the laws of California too. Now if only Robert Albert Morey and his gang would admit that they have to obey California Corporate law, maybe law and order will exist again in California.

Much of my family did serve in the Civil War on the side of the North in the Michigan and Ohio units. Somehow none were killed and I have no idea which battles if any they were involved in.

One of my family members did fight under a Col. George Washington during the French and Indian War in a battle called Braddock's Defeat. He later would fight the British during something called the Revolutionary War and all I know is he was captured by the British but he somehow managed to escape.

My brother did serve in Desert Storm as he is a Col. in a Michigan National Guard MASH unit. His unit being the closest to the barracks hit by the missile treated many of the US soldiers injuried during Desert Storm.

One of my family members did serve in World War 1. He was the only messenger that managed to deliver an important message as the others were killed so he managed to get some sort of recognition for it. As I remember the story. He was sent by horse around the battle zone and the other messengers were sent through the battle zone. He was disappointed that he was sent by the long route but the other messagers were killed and he was not.

I cannot recall one family member that was killed in combat.

I have added a widget for playing Paul Washer sermons on several of my blogs. His sermons are very Bible sound and timely messages to American Christianity.

The more I read Tim Challies book on "The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment"; the more I realize how un-Biblical many spiritual discernment websites really are. It would be more fitting to call some so-called spiritual discernment sites nothing more than gossip sites and others bad news about the modern church addict sites since the bad news is not always gossip. As to how these so-called spiritual discernment websites advance the Kingdom of God is beyond my understanding as typically it is nothing more than bad news with maybe a few Bible verses tossed in and no serious apologetic argument being presented.

The duty of a true Christian is to test all things and that includes so-called spiritual discernment blogs and websites.

Evangelicalism in South Africa by Peter Hammond's wife & kid?

I find it interesting that the same year that Peter Hammond claimed that he was getting death threats from Muslim extremest; he was hunting teenagers with a paintball gun on Halloween night. Before Stephen Macasil points out an error; OK it was Peter Hammond's kid shooting the paintball gun with his father driving the get away car. Leaving an injured kid in the street while driving away at high speed shows a real act of courage. Then pointing out to the law that my kid did all of the shooting .... who put the paintball gun in that kid's hands? What an excellent example of Christian fatherhood to a son.

This is the same Peter Hammond that will create a great revival in Africa thanks to the many Robert Morey books recently sent there. A Peter Hammond more known for his paintball gun attacks on Halloween night and his strange political ideas than his evangelical outreach for God's Kingdom.

Why is it that Robert Morey and his gang love other Christians as strange if not stranger than Robert Albert Morey? It is small wonder that the Morey gang doesn't like Tim Keller as his kids never went paintball gun hunting on Halloween night.

Naturally I am a gossip person for publishing the truth about somebody in South Africa connected to the Faith Defenders of Orange County, CA. What is truth other than what the Morey-ites claim to be truth and what is gossip other than what the Morey-ites claim to be gossip.

All is quiet at the Biblical Thought blog as I wait the next Red Herring to get tossed at me.

A time out from the insanity of modern day Christian blogs. Who cares how undressed Carrie Prejean is, other than the spiritual discernment junkies who think that there is some sort of relationship between Carrie Prejean's clothing taste and heresy inside Christianity. Somehow I miss the relationship but I appear to be not the only one that is clueless on this matter. The future of Christianity depends upon Carrie Prejean wearing more modest clothing. Who would have known that Miss California USA 2009 holds the fate of Christianity in her hands, except that the spiritual discernment junkies warn us on this matter. OK, so it was a dull google search period and only Carrie Prejean was showing up in Google searches. There somehow is a relationship between Google search results and the newest Heretic in Christendom being exposed by spiritual discernment junkies.

I am an unforgivable Christian gossip for posting public corporation information on one of my blogs that can be obtained online from the California Secretary of State office in Sacramento, CA. Naturally the Biblical Thought blog came up with this silly-ness. I await the next Red Herring from the Morey-ites which may be that I am the Anti-Christ for getting information from the California Secretary of State Office.

I was rather shocked to see an email in my inbox from Cloud as I immediately was concerned it was David Cloud about to condemn me for using a NIV or NASB Bible. Then I noted it was from a Walter Cloud, not David Cloud. A big sense of relief as I am tired of troublesome Baptist having already gotten my full quota of their sillyness for the month and the month is only about half over.

OK, I am beginning to somewhat understand the Facebook and Twitter fad. I have a friend in Olympia Washington that is attempting to educate me on the MySpace fad deal. I have yet to totally get oriented on the Plaxo and Link-In deal. The fact that NACE International has started going Link-In is making me take Link-In more seriously. Link-In is surely more for engineering persons than Plaxo. Seriously, Plaxo doesn't appear to realize that there are persons in this world called engineers. I fully realize that engineering is not sexy and it doesn't pay the big bucks but this recession is sort of leveling the pay scale as some of those making the big bucks in the past are now un-empolyed or suffering pay cuts to stay empolyed. As for me; I am still very much in demand as is the evidence that I keep getting these recruiters trying to get me to take a job. But seriously, I have no desire to work in Oman. I know where Oman is which is why I have no desire to work there. I can even find the USA on a world map; which I understand makes me very strange above and beyond the fact that I am an engineer.

I confess I have yet to respond to the email request that I consider taking a job in Oman. I would rather work in Lubbock, Texas than Oman if it was for the right company. However, the email asking me to consider taking a job in Lubbock, Texas doesn't excite me as I know the company that is trying to get me interested and I do not have a burning desire at the moment to work for them. I have yet to respond to the Lubbock, Texas email too. I get flooded with too many of these job related requests.

OK, I confess I once tried to get a job in Turkey ... but it didn't happen and here I am in Southern California. I even interviewed for a job in Saudi Arabia; but I didn't get that job either. I confess my love of bacon really did make me ponder the job in Saudi Arabia as I arrive late in Houston, Texas the day before the interview with Saudi Aramco and I ordered room service at the hotel . Room service delivered a sandwich that had bacon in it. As I ate the sandwich I recalled that this meal is not legal in Saudi Arabia. I have been in Saudi Arabia before and it is a serious offense to eat bacon there. I was only in Saudi Arabia for a week for a conference. By the time my body adjusted to the time zone in Saudi Arabia I was back in California .... talk about huge jet lag.

I am getting somewhat use to living in Southern California. For awhile it seemed like I would wake up and ponder where I was and then realize this is Southern California. What am I doing here??? .... OK ... it appears to be somewhat of an improvement over winters in Minnesota or Iowa. When the radio station would come on and announce itself as being a LA station it was another situation of Oh .. . I am in Southern California. I am developing somewhat of a social life here and I never was in Iowa or Minnesota long enough to get all that connected there. The only news in Iowa City was the weekly report of who was arrested for driving drunk. Iowa City, IA is not exactly an exciting place. There is some good churches there and they tried to convert me into a University of Iowa Hawkeye fan ..... which is a problem for someone that graduated from Michigan State University. OK, if the Hawkeyes play the Spartans .... who do I dare wish to win and stay alive.

As for the Minneapolis / St Paul area it was nice attending John Piper's church but driving in winter is not for those with leak stomachs. To this day I have no clue as to how I managed to not get killed and even the company truck was undamaged after a black ice incident. I guess God wanted me alive. Life can end so quickly without warning. Within a week of my truck ending up in a ditch; another company truck hit black ice and flipped in the same area. The truck was badly damaged but the passengers managed to survive without too much injury.

Claremont like Iowa City is a college town. Like Iowa City I do attend activities open to the public at the Claremont colleges. There is a lot of music related activities which is nice since typically these functions are free.

I always considered churches in the San Francisco area to be strange .... Los Angeles area churches are not much of an improvement. It sort of makes me ponder if winters in Iowa and Minnesota were really all that bad. Maybe that job in Lubbock Texas is worth going after. The weirdness of Southern California churches is not limited to FCCOC which no longer exists but I use it as an example of how weird churches in Southern California can become. I am told there are churches here much more weird than FCCOC, and that is not something I desire to spend much time thinking about as it may give me nightmares. I could write more on the topic but I do not desire to sound like Denise of Surph's Side blog.

Enough randomness as my laptop battery probably is not going to last much longer.

I note that Biblical Thought still suffers from some broken link issues and the blog really isn't operating fully as some past features are missing.

Seriously, I believe Carrie Prejean is the best weapon for marriage. What real man wouldn't want her for a wife. ;-) Seriously Carrie didn't want those photos released as it was the Liberal media trying to mock her Christian faith and there is the matter that Carrie claims that some of the photos were edited in Photo Shop. It really is a no win situation. Condemning Carrie for semi-nudity makes Christianity appear to be a religion of legalism. Giving Carrie Prejean Christian grace and forgiveness for photos that would not have been published if she had not taken a stand on marriage truly is more Christian but makes it appear that her lack of modesty even if she never desired the photos to be made public is somehow OK. Totally a no win situation and the trouble is too often this is the case. I agree that Carrie Prejean didn't really take a strong stand on the marriage issue as it was the same position as President Obama; but this makes the controversy on her statement all the more difficult to understand.

As far as all of the controversy over Tim Challies article on Watchblogs. Everyone has said or wrote something that later was regretted. Such is the human condition. To make such a big deal of it long after he had repented is not only silly but not Christian.

As far as these request to follow me on Twitter. I am a very boring engineer who lives a very dull and un-interesting life. Other than desiring to do satire of those who are too full of themselves rather than the Holy Spirit; I am boring ..... and I do not twitter my satire as I only blog it. Now Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church is a cool dude to follow on twitter as is Phil Johnson but Mark Driscoll is far more cool. Add Mark Driscoll to your twitter follow list and you should never have a dull twitter from him ... OK maybe a few dull twitters where he makes an a apology for the previous twitter.

Seriously Mark Driscoll if you do not stop making apologies for things; there will be Christians who will believe you have converted to the Lutheran faith. Your twitter on Microsoft Word needed no apology.

Adding photos to your twitter would make things more interesting. I do not advise semi-nudes of women as this will give Denise of Surph's Side blog something to gossip about; not that she needs an excuse to gossip as that is what she loves to do to advance the Kingdom of God. Since Denise appears to believe that anything less than Islam clothing that only shows a woman's eyes is somehow semi-nudity .... which appears to be evidence that Denise is drifting from Christianity into Islam. Perhaps any photo of a woman is not a good idea.

Sir Aaron on Biblical Thought put Daniel Chew in his place before I got around to it. Now Sir Aaron and Stephen Macasil are having a disagreement on Tim Challies. The soap opera on Biblical Thought continues and I may comment on it later.

I am back in Southern California. South Dakota was nice. Another long air travel day except the return was via Salt Lake City, Utah rather than Denver Colorado.

Christianity will survive in spite of the so-called Christian blog fad. Twitter may be the last straw so-called Christian fad that will totally destroy Christianity.

Stephen Macasil takes himself too seriously. Believe it or not; Christianity will do very well in spite of the horrible stuff that Stephen Macasil posts on Biblical Thought. Christianity has so far survived Robert Albert Morey has it not?

A Universal Call for Peace

Other than radically increasing traffic to my Wordpress blog, what has Daniel Chew really done? I considered his posting about me silly as I am not a New Calvinist (whatever that is). For one thing I am too old to be a New Calvinist. Even I at times consider New Calvinism to be silly but my Lutheran influence tends to result in Christian Liberty as long as there is no appearance of heresy. Unlike the heresy hunters; I really have not detected heresy in New Calvinism yet.

Too much of what I detect in attacks on New Calvinism is that it appears to be headed in a direction that is considered dangerous. I tend to ponder if these individuals have the gift of prophecy to know that New Calvinism is really going into this dangerous direction and I fail to detect that spiritual gift especially when Stephen Macasil appeared to be so sure that John McCain was going to win the presidential election. As we know Obama is president so any other claims by Stephen Macasil that he can tell the direction New Calvinism is going is questionable. Even Daniel Chew appears to have this belief that he can predict the direction that New Calvinism is going.

As best as I can tell, New Calvinism appears to be a movement and movements are hard to define and predict. Typically movements fall apart and become divided camps that fight each other. For Daniel Chew and Stephen Macasil to appear to claim that New Calvinism is something other than a movement; appears to be a sign in my opinion that they are clueless about what they claim to be experts on. I know from experience as the Campbellites were a movement that fell apart into legions of divided groups that love to attack each other while claiming to be the true followers of Alexander Campbell. Since Alexander Campbell can be quoted several ways on many issues; one has to ask the question which Alexander Campbell are you following as he appeared to suffer from multiple personality disorder. There is a tendency for historians of the Stone-Campbell Movement to claim that there was at least three different Alexander Campbells as he with age appears to have changed his mind on some matters.

Beyond question, when Stephen Macasil attacks Tim Keller; the Biblical Thought blog gets lots of traffic.

I am sure the Biblical Thought blog got lots of traffic when Stephen Macasil decided to attack Tim Challies.

Contrary to the opinions of Stephen Macasil; I do not have this burning desire to attack other Christians be they sheep or wolves. I do have a desire to attack a person who appears to be attacking a Christian (especially a Calvinist) without just cause. However, I have been known to come to the aid of Lutherans that I considered to be unfairly attacked on the internet too. Yes, I have even defended Baptist too.

My attacks are more defensive than offensive. As long as the radical mad dogs are on their best behavior; I have no desire to launch a defensive attack. The worse thing the Morey-ites can do is attack me as I will immediately launch a counter attack.

I read what Stephen Macasil and Daniel Chew have to say about New Calvinism; and I believe them to be clueless on the topic. Just because someone markets himself as an expert on something doesn't make him one.

Knowing Tim Keller as well as I do; I am offended by the strawman version of Tim Keller that Stephen Macasil has created. Presently I am as unimpressed with the strawman the Morey-ites have created of Mark Driscoll. When the Morey-ites attack the strawman they have created called Mark Driscoll and Tim Keller I am not impressed and I consider them to be silly, stupid, and dumb. As far as the new and improved strawman of New Calvinism called Tim Challies; I have yet to recognize this strawman as being the real Tim Challies.

Anyway, it appears that there is a universal call for peace in the Christian Blog World. Not that anyone has called me on the phone, sent me a email, or posted a comment on any of my blogs about this call for peace. I simply note a sudden appearance of several blog articles calling for peace.

I note with humor that the troublesome Steve Camp has called for peace. James White has joined in this call for peace. Phil Johnson has had a long standing appeal for peace and simply reminds everyone of that fact. Carla Rolte (whoever she is as I have no clue) calls for peace. This peace movement appears to be real and it may be spreading faster in Christian blogs than the so-called New Calvinism whatever that is as I still have no clue.

As I write this I am in South Dakota and it has been a very long day for me of airline travel. I pray for peace in the Christian blogs as I consider Christian blogging to be silly and un-Christian.

This will be posted on all my blogs and I wait to see if peace will happen before launching any additional defensive action.

Nothing like the Morey-ites in Asia attacking my blog by referring to me as a hardcore diehard Mark Driscoll fan? Apple iTouch & Blackberry Curve

I understand that Apple and Verizon are discussing a iPhone for Verizon. Do not know if this is true but it came from a reliable source.

Until then I have my Apple iTouch.

The gang at the office got me started with Pandora which is an internet music radio station. The Pandora application for iTouch and iPhone is really nice. I have been more into Last.FM and its iTouch application is really nice too. I also installed Y! Music, iHeart Radio, AOL Radio, Public Radio, and Slacker Radio.

I can now read Amazon Kindle books on my Apple iTouch. WordPress has an application fo the Apple iTouch too. I love Olive Tree Bible Software on my Pocket PCs, Palm TX, and Motorola Q. Now I have Olive Tree Bible Software up and running on my Apple iTouch and Blackberry Curve too.

At first I loved the Blackberry Curve because it was great at Email, but I missed the Motorola Q that it replaced because it was a superior pocket computer. After much experimenting, trial, and error efforts; the Blackberry Curve is now almost equal to the Motorola Q in running software.

The problem with the Blackberry Curve is that Verizon Wireless sells the unit configured for selling Verizon Wireless software. The big breakthough in getting the unit running software that I desired was when I removed the Verizon Wireless software store and replaced it with Blackberry App World. Also I removed all of the wacky settings that Verizon Wireless configured the unit to have and made it run more like a Motorola Q or Pocket PC unit. The person at Verizon Wireless that decided how the phone should be configured for sale should be fired.

Spirit of Aloha

In about three weeks I should be returning to Hawaii to start the work for which this week's meetings were all about. My boss who has never been to Hawaii before was rather influenced and desires to return to Aloha for the start kick off part of the project. In my past work on the island of Oahu I have seen all there is to see and done all there is to do. So it is a matter of been there, done that, and it seems more like a semi-home even if it has been years since I have been to Hawaii. I spent two full months on Oahu doing projects and during the weekends I climbed to the top of Diamond Head, visited the USS Missouri, USS Arizona, and all of the other places that tourist go. Drove around the island, visited the Mormon Temple, and the Polynesian Culture Center.

I even cruised offshore Hawaii in a Chevron crew boat and boarded a Chevron Super Tanker offloading crude oil from Indonesia for the Chevron Hawaii Refinery. A cruise offshore Hawaii on a Chevron crew boat is not for those that get motion sickness; no amusement ride can get close to being a match for such an experience. The power of the Pacific Ocean is rather impressive when you are on a very small boat. Those that are chicken cruise the Pacific Ocean on large cruise ships.

Some things have changed: Aloha Airlines is gone as is Hilo Hatties.

There are a few new building in the city skyline. The traffic has gotten much worse and there is air pollution in paradise.

However, it is still Hawaii and the Aloha spirit still lives even if Aloha Airlines is history.
